The University of Georgia CAES Summer Internship Programs target talented high school students who show a high aptitude in math and science related subjects. The program gives high school students an opportunity to work on science and technology projects with faculty in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; meet faculty and students in various departments and learn about the many fields of study and career opportunities in agri-science. |
Eligibility: (1) completed sophomore year and is 16 years of age by June 1, (2) Demonstrated a serious interest in science, math, or technology, (3) willing to make a commitment to scientific exploration, (4) submitted application form, and been selected by Young Scholars Committee. I have participated in the young scholars program for the last two years. It is a tremendous opportunity for bright students to be exposed to the world of scientific discovery as it is happening. This is one of the few programs that allows a young person to see what a scientist does from day to day and promotes research as a career option.
